Challenge: Conducting fracturing operations on a single well presents a significant challenge: ensuring that the activity does not negatively impact production in nearby offset wells. Protecting both your own production and that of neighboring operators is critical to operational success.

Solution: Cold Bore deployed its OffsetWELLS monitoring system on both the tubing and casing of all surrounding wells in close proximity to the active fracturing site. The system is a fully independent, stand-alone unit equipped with its own power supply and capable of streaming real-time data directly into the SmartPAD platform.

Results: The OffsetWELLS system successfully detected pressure increases in adjacent wells caused by the fracturing process. In this case, pressures did not exceed 250 PSI, remaining within the acceptable tolerance and posing no risk to production. In other scenarios, however, pressures have reached 1,000 PSI, triggering the operator to proactively abandon the affected stage and continue operations further uphole.
